Prayer for the Desert

Sing through every Battle

In My desert
My land is parched
I chose to be glad
Because He comes behind me and goes before me in my desert
He brings his abundant rain to my desert
I praise you for supernaturally feeding me in this dry and scorched land
You appear through your Holy Fire
You make the rock produce water,
my treasures are hidden no more
I take hold of my inheritance
You open doors
Tear down my bronze gates that need to be torn down
You are the repairer of my broken walls
You redeem the years the locust have eaten
You repair me
You send your abundant rain ahead of me in my wilderness
You are VICTORIOUS
Though you tenderly lead me
I blaze trails and sing like an army into battle
I will sing through this battle
My sacrifice is a voice of praise and heart of thanksgiving
I praise you that My wilderness will Rejoice and Blossom
You say shout my praises and the walls that hold you hostage will fall
So I shout your praises my King
Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.
In front are the singers,
after them the musicians;
They come to me first
They sing through every battle
Your word says the voice of the singers at the watering places.
They recite the victories of the Lord,
I recite all your victories today throughout my life:
[your praises for the great things he has done]
As I sing and praise you
praying and singing hymns to God,
Praising you for my prison
You shake my foundations
My prison doors fly open, and my chains come loose
I walk in freedom
I am victorious, because you paid the price
I thank you Jesus that you have won the battle
I am still
I proclaim your abundant rain
You are victorious

Isaiah 35:1
The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus,

His promise to you today is that he will blossom your desert and wilderness.  It will burst into bloom, you will see my mighty hand the glory of the Lord.

Psalms 126:2-6
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, Lord,
like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them.

In your desert the Lord promises songs of joy.  However the sowing of the seeds may not be joyful.  His planting and replanting the seeds of your life may be painful.  It is the promise of reaping with songs of joy.  So songs of joy does not mean you are joyful all the time, it means if your desert or sowing time causes rejection, sadness, and strife, that is to be expected. We are filled with laughter based on His faithfulness in the past and the future anticipation of what awaits in eternity. When we look back at his Faithfulness, his restoration of all things undone, the streams he has brought in the past to our desert season it is in that humble posture and inner reflection we are filled with joy. He wants you to anticipate and expect in your weeping and sadness that you will return with abundant harvest. He wants you to sing songs of joyful victory before, during, and after the battle. We know he is victorious and it is that eternal promise through Jesus the Christ that we find our joy. It is the promise of your life’s harvest that create within in us songs of joy. It is realizing that the gift we have been given is more than we deserve. Our joy comes not from our circumstances, but from the inner peace of the knowledge of the promises from our father. It is being driven by the fact that the father loves all, and runs after the one. That the day is quickly approaching where he will make himself known to all as in Isaiah 52:6:
Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.”

Take heart today ‘in your desert or fruitless sowing.  He promises He will send rain:  Leviticus 26:4-5
I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.
He will not leave himself without testimony sending us Showers: Acts 14:17
Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

He will water his chosen servants. The streams of God are His testimony and faithfulness.  His waters of Abundance are seen everywhere. I reap with songs of joy because my bounty is the life that was given for me.  Jesus is my song of joy in the desert.

Other scripture used:

Redeemed: Isaiah 35:8-10

it will be for those who walk on that Way.
The unclean will not journey on it;
wicked fools will not go about on it.
No lion will be there,
nor any ravenous beast;
they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed will walk there,
and those the Lord has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.

for so you have ordained it.
You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
