In my time alone praying and reading scripture yesterday I was meditating on Exodus 33. Specifically, Exodus 33:11-12:
Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘LEAD these people,’ but you have not let me KNOW whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I KNOW you by name and you have found FAVOR with me.’ If you are pleased with me, TEACH me your WAYS so I may KNOW you and CONTINUE to FIND FAVOR with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
I like Moses, find myself constantly asking the Lord “how do I LEAD in this situation Lord? —please TEACH me.” I took a pause and reread the Lord’s response in Exodus 33:14:
The LORD replied, “My Presence will GO with YOU, and I will give you REST.”
The message version of the Bible says this:
GOD said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.
I took a deep breath and sighed…Lord, I am sorry—God your Presence is enough, thank you for the REST Your Presence gives. I don’t need to know the end, because all I need is you and I know you are victorious. Thank you God that you desire intimacy with me and for the gift of your son. As I find myself today trying to walk in confidence, peace, and joy—seeking to lead and teach my family the way of peace in this chaos – homeschool — as I seek your protection —I realize I already have all I need because Your Presence is ENOUGH. I thank you for your HIDING me in Your Presence. I thank you for your goodness. I praise you that you alone know the future.
